It is hard to believe that 2025 is drawing to a close. It feels like just yesterday we were setting our intentions for the year, and now, here we are, preparing to turn the page to 2026.

In the spirit of our theme, “Finish Strong, Start Stronger,” we want to take a moment to pause and “unwrap” the year we’ve just had. 2025 was not without its challenges. The academic landscape is changing, the economy has shifted, and our students faced hurdles that would daunt many adults.

Yet, time and time again, they rose to the occasion. This post is a celebration of resilience. It is a highlight reel of the barriers broken and the milestones reached by the UFCSC family.

Before we get to the stories, let’s look at the stats. Numbers don’t tell the whole story, but they do show the scale of our collective effort.

1. The Summer Leadership Summit: Our summer programs brought students together for intensive learning and bonding, setting the tone for the academic year and creating friendships that will last a lifetime.
2. Community Partnership Wins: We were thrilled to collaborate with new local businesses this year, opening doors for job shadowing and real-world experience that our students would never have had access to otherwise.
3. The Class of ’25: We watched our seniors walk across the graduation stage and into their futures, armed with the skills and confidence they built right here at UFCSC.

They say it takes a village to raise a child, but it takes a dedicated community to launch a career. We could not have finished 2025 this strong without our volunteers.

To the mentors who answered texts at 9 PM to calm pre-exam jitters: Thank you. To the donors who trusted us with their resources: Thank you. To the parents who drove their kids to workshops and encouraged them to dream big: Thank you.

You are the engine of this organization. You provided the stability that allowed our students to take risks and grow.

Lessons Learned for 2026

We also learned a lot this year. We learned that flexibility is key. We learned that mental health support is just as important as academic tutoring. We learned that our students are more adaptable and tech-savvy than we could have ever imagined.

As we look toward 2026, we are taking these lessons with us. We are refining our programs to be even more responsive to the needs of the modern student. We are not just repeating what we did in 2025; we are evolving.
